Description:
Alces Technology, Inc. is seeking a motivated, hands-on
engineer to assist in the research and development of next-generation
electronic systems in the fields of computer vision and embedded hardware. The
qualified candidate should have strong technical skills with the ability to
execute ideas in a clean and cooperative way, and be self-driven with a desire
to learn new concepts and skills.
The skills which we desire most from a candidate are:
- Embedded hardware and software
- Analog and digital interfaces
- Computer vision and imaging systems
- Software and scripting
- Electronics prototyping
- High-speed RF signals
- Structured Light or Time-of-Flight systems
- Test and measurement sciences
Experience with the following tools is desirable but not a
pre-requisite:
- Verilog/VHDL
- Xilinx/Altera FPGAs
- C/C++, C#/.NET
- OpenCV
- PCB CAD layout
- Electronic lab equipment
The responsibilities will include working within a small
team of engineers to develop new embedded hardware and software systems to
drive a new 3D capture sensor. The engineer will be responsible for design and
building new electronics systems using a variety of tools and working in a lab
environment to validate design choices and theoretical concepts.
